Although the Uplands neighborhood consists of single family homes, it is actually a condominium association. Each home owner is part of the association and is subject to the provisions set forth in the by-laws.
Home owners receive a bi-annual assessment, or association fee, to cover the costs of the association. Approximately half of the budget is designated for garbage collection, since this service is not provided by Scio Township. The remainder is used for maintenance of common areas, management fees, etc.
The Board holds an annual meeting that is open to all residents who are encouraged to attend (typically held at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District building). Board members serve for a minimum of one year and residents interested in serving on the Board should contact a Board member for additional information.
We use the Nextdoor platform to communicate with homeowners. There is a specific community for the Uplands and is not open to the general public.
